Headshot of Moriah Daniels
Hello! My name is Moriah Daniels, and I am honored to join the Pennsylvania Utility Law Project as the Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network Martin Luther King, Jr. Legal Fellow!
I earned my J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School in May 2025, with a Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law. Upon graduating, I received the 2025 Environmental, Natural Resource, and Energy Law Leadership Award and was gratefully inducted into the Cornelius Honor Society. While pursuing my law degree, I served as Notes & Comments Editor for the Lewis & Clark Environmental Law Review, the nation's oldest law review devoted exclusively to environmental issues, and as the Environmental Justice Project Coordinator for the Northwest Environmental Defense Center.
After law school, I presented at the Drexel Law Review Symposium on Hair, Health, Law and Policy, examining public health deficits left by federal agencies due to an inequitable regulatory scheme and their implications for subsets of vulnerable communities. Soon after, I moved to Philadelphia, where I served as a Staff Attorney at the Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity, providing low-income Philadelphians access to justice through criminal record relief.
Throughout law school, I focused on public interest advocacy across environmental justice, energy law, public health law, civil rights, and criminal legal reform. Across each discipline, a common issue that consistently arose was the snowballing effect that occurs when vulnerable communities lack safe, affordable access to essential services. My experiences throughout my internships and legal advocacy deepened my commitment to community centered justice. I am thrilled to join PULP and contribute to advancing equitable utility and energy policies for Pennsylvania consumers.
